Basement Blues

Well...it happened again. Our basement flooded. Not a terrible amount but enough soak the carpet and force lots and lots of trips up and down the stairs to dump the shop vac. The sump pump went out so Justin had to do some man work and replace the pump before we could dry it all out. It's caused a much needed purging of old toys and bins...Goodwill here we come!

Let's just say it wasn't my brigtest moment. I went from normally optimistic wife to instant Debbie Downer, "were never going to be able to finish our basement!" Justin had to tell me to get a grip, it's just water. 

The water seeps in through the foundation so not much guarantee that the best French drain and 2 amazing sump pumps would ensure a dry basement. Our neighbors all jumped in to help us and Carter rolled up her pants and threw on P's rain boots. 

Let's just say this mama is looking at homes for sale!
