Our sweet Mamaw completed her race and was taken to heaven on October 10th. A few months prior I happened to call her only a few minutes after she walked in the door from the appointment where they told her she had 4-6 months to live. Papaw broke the news to me and handed the phone to Mamaw. I'll never forget when I told her with tears in my eyes, "Oh Mamaw, I am so sorry. What terrible news!" She responded with a little pep in her voice, "Well, it wasn't the best news I heard today!" So typical, such a positive lady:)
I prayed so hard that she would hang on until our trip to Indy October 3rd. And prayers were answered as we enjoyed quality time with our Mamaw while she chatted in her chair surrounded by all of her family. The kids got to tell her they loved her one last time and give her kisses and hugs. And three days after we left the good Lord took her into his arms.
Oh Mamaw, take care of those babes that made it to heaven before you and we can't wait to give you a giant hug when we arrive!!

October 10th...hard to believe more heartache as we miss her. What a sweetheart she was in each of our lives - sweet & positive, with that caring smile and little laugh. What a great party we all shared, surrounding her with love. xo Aunt B
