Happy Birthday America!

The kids were a little confused last year about "America's Birthday" and weren't quite sure who they were supposed to sing to and where this America lady was...but this year they were on board! We bought some cake mix and frosting the week before and as I was heading out the door this morning I was passing off the cake baking to Super Dad..."And don't forget the high altitude directions!" The cake was great....
After I got off work we went to Mimi's for a BBQ and some popper/confetti maker fun. Since Colorado has been devastated by wildfires there are only a handful of firework shows and crazy fines if you try to light your own but the kids could have cared less...the poppers were a hit!
Lovin on P Bear after his bath..
Dre looks up to his older cousin Austin!
Pierce wasn't the only baby at the BBQ. My mom was watching the neighbors 7 week old boxer Dalilah. And just like all babies, she slept most of the time.
Carter wanted to wear boxer briefs like Dre...twins...so silly and cute.
And a bedtime story...the kids are hooked on this Princess book with several short stories. When Justin reads to Carter she always chooses, "Princess Aurora, Falling in Love." (Insert giant Daddy eye roll!)
