What would Lance do?

The days are ticking away before the Milnes/Rossester/Schup crew participate in the 37th annual RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) Thirty eight days, 1 hour, 35 minutes, and 53 seconds to be exact. (Thanks ragbrai.org for the official countdown clock!)

Pre-babies, lots of time to bike. Post-babies, rides are few and far between. I just had my bike tuned up and Courtney was coming over to watch the kids so that I could get my booty in shape for hot, humid days and long hours in the saddle. I was overly excited today to get out on my bike and then once the time came to head out...RAIN! What!? Then I thought to myself, what would Lance do? Exactly, so off into the rain I rode. The rain got a little more intense as I rode out of Golden and a lady actually stopped at the side of the road to see if I needed a ride. I had a huge smile on my face and responded, "Believe it or not this is intentional!" She gave me the puzzled, "seriously?" look and drove off.

The two hour ride went something like this- soaking rain, double rainbow, blue skies and sun. Thank-you Colorado!

Courtney captured this picture of the double rainbow from our balcony. Just a little reminder that life is good!

I have included a few pre-babies RAGBRAI photos to prove that riding a bike across Iowa is actually a party on wheels. Really it's what I imagine heaven would look like if you could just ride your bike everywhere and all they served was cold beer, pork tenderloin sandwiches, and corn.

Ten of thousands of people sporting spandex and stopping in small towns along the way to visit the local pubs.

Team "Old Style" Not hard to find your bike crew in each town with these classic jerseys!

Uncle Roy rocks the afro wig while driving the RV from Denver to West Iowa. We're jammin' to The Nadas and Asleep at the Wheel. Ironic eh?

Lance would ride - just like you did! So proud of you! But...I thought this would be a "healthy" trip...beer, tenderloins...and here we thought you learned this on the Georgetown Indy 500 bike ride..should have known. Safe journey - xo Becky (awesome pics)
