Dreyton Thomas and Carter Lee are currently in the NICU, trying to get their blood sugar levels under control. The magic number is 40 and above, many times they are over but have not been able to sustain a consistent level for an entire day. They are able to eat 20-30 ml of formula and Shannon is working hard to begin feeding. Dreyton is doing a little better than Carter, as we believe he is just giving a bad number once a day to stay in and protect his little sister.
Shannon is recovering nicely and enjoys her short naps through the day. She is currently eating soft solids for nutrition and getting used to the breast pump contraption. Shannon is expected to be released Monday or Tuesday. The babies aren't quite on track to come home with us, but we are praying they make a quick recovery. Thank you for all your comments (we love them!!), thoughts, and prayers. We are blessed with very thoughtful, caring, and loving family and friend. We love you all.

Congratulations Shannon and Justin! Although we feel so far away from you, it is awesome to be able to share in this special time with you. The "twins" are gorgeous and we hope they are able to go home with you soon. We can't wait to see you in a month.

we love all the pictures, and you both look great as parents! we are hoping that the blood sugar gets on track quickly and that shannon continues to heal well. you will always be able to tell carter that dreyton has wanted to protect her from day one - watch out boys in high school!
Dreyton is just trying to make up for his fight with his sister, Carter, in trying to be the first born - he will soon learn about "ladies first". Hugs, love, kisses, and prayers continue from the Buckeyes. xo Becky
We are glad to hear Carter and Dreyton are being monitored so closely. Hope their levels begin being more consistent.
