Summer hiking

Every summer I have this long list of things I want to do before the next school year starts. Those lists end up looking a bit over zealous when it's all said and done. So this summer we are just exploring. Taking the time to explore the beauty not to far from our home.

Yesterday we ventured to one of the nearby open spaces that has been rumored to have great family hiking. We packed a picnic and off we went. The hike did not disappoint and the kids enjoyed the sunshine, throwing rocks, and running up and down the path.

We can't wait to take Justin with is next time and the ergo backpack. Lil man is not that easy to carry for long distances anymore!

Throwing rocks, endless entertainment!
Where are D and C? They loved leading the way. Their little heads are popping up over the tall grass.
Experts...
Water break.

Killer climbing tree.

As we sat by the creek eating lunch at the end of our hike pierce looked at me and said, "Thank you mommy hiking. It is so pretty!"
